In today’s post of “DIY-WEEK” we would like to share a very easy way to create your own paper fans.
You will need: cardboard in any colour you like (you can use different sizes here depending on how large you want the fans to be) and some strong craft glue.
Fold your cardboards into fans. This is easily done: just start at one end of the cardboard and fold it in the size you want them to be, then flip it over and fold again in the same size. Keep on doing this until you reach the other end. Don’t worry if there is any extra cardboard left, that doesn’t fit the size of the rest of the folds. You can trim it off with scissors or just fold it, too. You won’t see it later.
Now you will have to fold your work in half. Take your time with this step and make sure that the ends fit perfectly. If there is any excess, just trim it off carefully.
After folding it in half, fix the open edges with some of your glue and press them together for a few seconds until the glue sticks on well.
Repeat this process with all the other cardboards.
Before you continue with the next step, think about the colours you would like to combine. Of course, you can also have only one colour, but then it’s not a rainbow-fan 🙂
We would recommend using 3-5 small fans to create one huge fan in the end. But this also depends on size of your fans.
One you are happy with your drafts, start gluing the free edges on one and another until all the fans are in a row (always pressing gently for a few seconds). Then, open the last two fans a bit and glue their free edges together.
And that’s it: now you’ve got a beautiful paper fan to decorate your wedding venue. You can also bring this fans to the next level by randomly spraying them with gold or silver spray-colour.
Use these babies to decorate your buffet station, candy bar or trees.
