The devil is in the details – as they say. And that is what made the wedding of Sandy and Hendrik from
Germany, so special.
This year‘s wedding season started out with the wedding of S & H, who invited their family and
friends from Germany, Canada and Australia to Casa Felix in Olivella.
Casa Felix is characterized by its many rooms and gardens, which S & H fell in love with
immediately during their visit in April.
As the colour for the wedding, the couple had opted for blue. From the wedding invitation to the bridal
bouquet and to the decoration in general, all sorts of blue were to be found. Sandy also chose the colour
blue for her look and wished to have blue flower details in her bridal hairstyle.
And a thing could not be missing – the mandatory unicorn in the pool. But that was not the only
unicorn detail at the wedding – as a wedding gift they were given a Piñata, of course in the form of a
unicorn. And even the box in which the church books were placed, was printed with unicorns.
Somebody seems to be a fan of the mythical stuff!
The German-English ceremony took place in the Iglesia de Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla in Sitges.
Sandy, who works in Germany for the car brand Mazda, got the bridal car sponsored by her employer
and was befitting her ancestor with her bridesmaid in a Mazda convertible.
After the wedding ceremony, the guests went to Casa Felix where they had the welcome drink in
the kitchen garden.
This was followed by a 2-hour long aperitif in the long garden with fresh Iberian ham and other
Mediterranean specialities…
… next followed the banquet by the pool. There was a big BBQ with Spanish and Catalan delicacies
Instead of a wedding cake, the guests were surprised with a dessert buffet, which left nothing to be
desired! In addition to macarons and lots of candy, there were fruit skewers and Sachertörtchen, and of course the typical Crema Catalana!
A highlight – of course also in blue, were the gifts! All the guests received a shot glass each with a
bottle of vodka and Ahoj effervescent powder.
This mixture is probably only known in Germany and was consumed later in the evening by the
guests 😉
The story behind it: S & H drank Ahoj Brause-Vodka when they met – well maybe – they do not
remember exactly (-;
For the kids, there were M&Ms with the faces of S & H!
In the old beautiful basement of the house, the dance floor was then swung until late at night and
one or two drinks were taken at the open bar.
All in all, the small details made the wedding truly special and a highlight for everyone involved!
