Have you just started planning your wedding? Find you have time on your hands to personalise the details? The Internet is full of ideas for easy wedding DIY projects. My dear friend Nicola who loves handiwork and always has a project on the go, excelled herself when creating beautiful items to decorate her English 1950’s countryside wedding. Hay bales like above, make perfect makeshift benches and add to the countryside feel. Affordable and easy to transport and move. Some venues here in Spain have them for rent as well.
The bunting was made out of old pillow cases, bedspreads and second hand fabrics. An old basket was pimped and turned in to a present collector.
Old croquet sets were found in antique shops and in family attics and was greatly appreciated during the aperitif accompanied by a glass of Pimms served in a jam jar.
Simple wooden letters surrounded by flowers created a romantic corner in the village hall.
Old planks pained in the wedding colours made for a stunning and unique table plan. I cherish sharing ideas with couples on Pinterest and advising on those tiny details that together complete the theme of a wedding. One of the weddings next year will have dark blue Gaudí tiles as the theme setter with strong colours all around! Enjoying the brainstorming with Katherine and looking forward to many more creative and unique wedding details to plan!
