Remember our paper fans from last post? Here is a cool way to use them as another deco-item!
You will need: cardboard in any colour and size you like, some strong craft glue, thick string and a stapler.
First, fold your cardboards into fans. This is easily done: have a look at our previous blogpost about the rainbow paper fans!
Once you are done with all your fans, just fold them apart. They will kind of look like big sea shells at this point 🙂
Now, before you start securing your fans on your string, think about the order you want the colours to be. If you have orange and red as a colour for example, try to keep a colder colour (like blue) between to have a contrast. This way the colours will stick out more.
With the string and the cardboard, you can always decide which colours you want to use depending on your wedding theme or taste. Since we are using strong colour we wanted to keep the string as simple as possible with a little extra.
So, this is what we did: use black and white string (same material looks better) and twist them with each other. This way you have simple colours but still something that looks cool.
What you want to do then is hang the string somewhere (across a room for example). It should be tight and secure for the next step, because now we are going to fix all the paper fans on the string using a stapler.
Tipp: put all your paper fans underneath the string on the floor. This way they are in the right order and you will be faster, too!
When all the fans are secured and you are happy with the results, this is it!
Now you can hang your rainbow paper fan garland to make your wedding venue stick out – depending on the lengths of the garland you can use it to mark the aisle, decorate buffet station and candy bar or let them hang in a tree. It will look amazing!
We hope you had as much fun as we had during our DIY-WEEK and would love it to see your DIY’s on Instagram with #diypearlsandals.
Have fun and take care!
