Katherine & Daniel came all the way from the States to celebrate their wedding in Catalunya. Dan has Spanish roots and did his Masters here in Barcelona and the couple have spent a lot of time here so the choice felt natural.
Little things that were special about their wedding was the special attentions to their guests that the couple showed. Little gift bags were given to each guest during their Get Together event at Taller de Tapas Las Ramblas in central Barcelona. Guest were given Barcelona chocolate, water bottle, mini Sangria bottle, SOS plasters and aspirin and a map of the city!
On the Wedding day itself, a very romantic gesture was the Love Letters they had written to one another and we gave them to the other person half an hour before the ceremony to take a moment to read.
By the half circle formation for their outdoor ceremony we hung wonderful signs saying: “Choose a seat not a side, we are all family once the knot is tied” and very close friend Irina did a great and personal job as the Celebrant for their Humanist Ceremony.
Catering Sensacions show cooking was fantastic and I am not exaggerating! To only mention one dish, he in situ smoked Salmon was a show stopper and goes well with the reputation of Barcelona’s top fusion cuisine.
The overall colours were white and green, we had the most enchanted mix of white flowers with peonies, lysianthus, clavel, pimpernell, anything but roses as they were not on Katherine’s wish list! Refreshing! Eucalypthus, olive branches different eaves for the greens, then water glasses and napkins in green along with different vintage vases in different greens from turquoise to forrest and whites. Old style steel chairs in green mixed with mosaic chairs in brown and sand for that Gaudi feel to make us remember we are in Catalunya,
In the evening it was completely still and a gorgeous full moon rose, it was magical as the newly weds danced their first dance as their guests held sparkers in a ring around them.
Parents of the bride, Kim Thoa and Jeff got everybody dancing by leading a Zumba session which all the guests thoroughly enjoyed!
There were tears of joy, lots of hugs and so much love, a heartfelt and joyous union of two wonderful people in the company of a very loving crowd of friends and family! Thank you for letting us be a part of it!
