The story of Myriam, the owner of Miranda Tocados is one of those stories, which makes you feel nothing but admiration and respect for a person full of strength and self-improvement. Due to a chronic disease she is obliged to have a sedentary life, and instead of staying at home without doing nothing, she decided to start a business of creative handwork, creating impressive and glamorous headdresses. In 2011 a friend of her who happened to work in fashion suggested that she should create her own headdresses, and she was surprised to see how quick orders start arriving. She always will remember, that she did her first headdress with things she had at home like a fur and some feathers.
Myriam gets inspired from the beautiful things that surround her such as; a simple flower, a picture, a trip, the sea and by using materials as organza, sinamay, buntal, buttons, branches, precious stones, feathers she creates her charming headdresses. She says that you have to just let your imagination go and go! And of course there are also some materials a bit difficult to use like abaca, especially because they are quite strong to shape.
Myriam’s recommendation for wearing a headdress is not to follow the protocol if it does not suit you, and the most important is that the headdress styled you. For the day, she always recommend a Pamela hat, although you can always use a headdress as it’s more versatile.
She creates two collections yearly one for autumn-winter and another for spring-summer and indeed she also does personalized works. You can find a lovely headdress from 60€ and if you would like to see all her dazzling creations visit click here.
