About a year ago on my birthday, my husband Matt and I had a tasting with Annie & Frankie from Ireland. Matt and Frankie shared the love for Liverpool and we had so much fun together feeling at home at Sauleda catering whilst savoring all their treats.
Annie & Frankie had planned for an autumn wedding last year when they were blessed with the arrival of little Ella… Their big day was postponed until this Easter Sunday. The month of March can be cold here in Barcelona but we had some sun and could have the aperitif in Sant Pere de Clara‘s courtyard along with lovely pics taken.
Father Francis is Frankie’s uncle and the service he delivered was full of laughter, food for thought and above all, love.
Football was a strong theme amongst the family and friends, Frankie is an ardent Liverpool fan so as Annie walked into the chapel the Liverpool anthem “You’ll never walk alone” was played. His best men and his bride are Man United fans and the puns and jokes between the two sides continued throughout the celebrations.
Silver and navy was the theme so to keep it simple and within budget we sprayed jam jars, used silver lace and mirrors, white, different flowers and olive branches to create the feeling we were after.
The beverage menu was quite something! We had brought special brews like Bulman’s cider, Smirnoff ice, Bud beer and the guests were served three cocktails throughout the night…Sex on beach, Piña colada and a lush Strawberry daiquiri.
The wedding was a joyful event and some highlights were the many surprising entry songs to both the ceremony and to the banquet… my personal favorite was Father Francis entry to Tom Jones!
DJ Rafa rocked and produced songs on request like “Red and green of mayo”….. Man united song….
We were very happy to see the newlyweds on the dance floor the whole evening!
Would love to have our paths cross again, Annie & Frankie, maybe next time on that lovely green island of yours!
