It all started with Sol I Vida as JoAnne and Ben went to see it and immediately fell in love with it and the concept and the people, that quirkiness of it and the important charity aspect.
Josep Maria and family said; “If you don’t have a wedding planner you should see Petra” so they called me and we met on a whim by Arc de Triomf and we got on like a house on fire!
As they are both huge fans of music, they chose the Wedding date to be the week of the Primavera festival in Barcelona. This was also reflected in the fact that they had DJ Arveene from Dublin come and play, who’s a friend of a friend and the theme therefore was festival galore!
We had all the colours of the rainbow, bunting, bunting, gold curtains….JoAnne was the Sun in Gold and her maids the rainbow! Groom’s men matching buttonholes and mum’s coursages as well.
The ceremony was very special as we had a burning bowl ceremony where all present burned notes with something they wanted to let go of and something they wanted to evoke. We all participated in the ring warming as well, sending our love and positive energy to the rings and thinking positive wishes for the Happy Two,
A highlight during the evening was the Beer tasting of craft beer in the Chiringuito in the garden.. little notes explained the different types of beer and where they were from in Catalunya, they you got your own sample from the bathtub on display:-)
Instead of traditional cake we had Churros and chocolate at Midnight, a huge success!
Strawberries was another theme throughout.. from the Welcome drinks of Cava with fresh pureed Strawberries from Sant Cebria to the Can Martri Sausages with Strawberries to the baskets with red gold in every nook and cranny, a total of 30kilos of Strawberries and what was left caused joy at the soup kitchen Chiringuito de Dios the day after, Sharing the love!
