This autumn we are focusing on visiting venues in Maresme area, scouting where the locals get married in the search for new hidden gems for our couples. We exchange tips and learn from our local providers and these visits are some of the highlights we look forward to during low season.
This week we visited Mas Pujol where we were greeted by the lovely Teresa and her assistant Christina. What first struck me about this protected Masia from 1785 was the flora and fauna. The grounds are big with many ancient trees and lots of flowers even though we are in the month of November. White horses were grazing in the fields, butterflies fluttering about the hibiscus, idyllic setting for any event! Mas Pujol can be used for any event and offers many different set up options. I picture welcome refreshments under the four pine trees to start with. A wedding ceremony can be held either on the walkway close to the pool or under the gorgeous magnolia tree. In spring and autumn the guests can be served in front of the house and during the hottest summer months the pergola part next to the Masia gives needed shade. Music outside is allowed until midnight when the party would move on to the bar and music room inside with a curfew at 03.00 for our night crawlers.
Plan B is also good although it limits the number of guests to 110. The price to rent Masia Pujol is very reasonable between 1000 to 2000 Euros + IVA depending on day of the week and season. Logistically it is located 30 mins from Barcelona and easily accessible with good beach side accommodation nearby. One of the memories Jordi took with him from our visit is the fantastic old sun clock on the Masia’s façade. It reads “Jo sense sol, tu sense fe no valem res” it translates “ Me without sun, you without faith, we are worth nothing.”
